Cancer Registry Case Finding: From Trigger to Suspense
About Course
Learn a practical, repeatable case finding workflow for a hospital cancer registry. Start with ICD-10-CM disease index and pathology lists, review imaging and clinician documentation, decide whether a new primary meets the applicable reportability rules, assign the facility relationship, and place eligible cases in suspense for later abstraction.
Six short sections include a decision activity after each lesson, realistic fictional pathology reports, imaging reports, physician notes, and a diagnosis-code worklist. A final quiz checks the complete workflow. Always confirm current year and your reporting standard before applying a casefinding list; a trigger is not by itself a reportable diagnosis.
